ONE ATHLETE. ONE BASELINE. ONE DEVELOPMENT PLAN.

Pro Skills Hockey Development combines objective athletic testing with structured off-ice development to help young hockey players understand where they are today, what they need to improve, and how to continue progressing.

Every athlete begins with a measurable baseline. From that baseline, we identify strengths, development priorities and physical performance needs to create a more individualized path forward.

Our focus is not simply on testing athletes. Testing gives us the starting point. Development is what comes next.

HOCKEY TESTING & DEVELOPMENT

U8–U11 | FUTURE PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

Build the Athletic Foundation

At this stage, the focus is on developing the movement qualities young hockey players need as they grow.

Training develops:

  • Speed and acceleration

  • Agility and change of direction

  • Coordination and balance

  • Body control

  • Movement mechanics

  • Core athletic strength

  • Confidence and physical literacy

Athletes learn how to move efficiently while developing the athletic foundation needed to support their on-ice development.

The Goal

Build strong movement habits now that athletes can continue developing as the game becomes faster and more demanding.

U12–U13 | ADVANCED PLAYER PREPARATION

Develop the Athlete Behind the Hockey Player

As players mature, hockey becomes faster, more physical and more demanding.

This stage combines performance testing with targeted development based on the individual athlete's results.

Training focuses on:

  • Explosive acceleration

  • Speed development

  • Lateral movement and change of direction

  • Power production

  • Strength development

  • Balance and body control

  • Movement efficiency

  • Conditioning and endurance

  • Injury-resilient movement patterns

Testing allows us to establish the athlete's baseline and identify areas requiring additional development.

The Goal

Turn measurable results into purposeful training and measurable progress.

U14+ | HIGH PERFORMANCE HOCKEY DEVELOPMENT

Prepare for the Next Level

Designed for committed athletes preparing for higher levels of hockey, this stage places greater emphasis on individualized performance development.

Athletes are evaluated through objective performance testing and receive development priorities based on their results, position, physical development and performance goals.

Development may include:

  • Acceleration and top-end speed

  • Explosive power

  • Strength development

  • Agility and reactive movement

  • Biomechanics and movement efficiency

  • Conditioning and work capacity

  • Body control and stability

  • Ongoing performance testing

  • Progress tracking and retesting

The Goal

Prepare athletes physically for the increasing demands of competitive, junior, college, university and higher-level hockey.

HOW THE PRO SKILLS SYSTEM WORKS

1. ESTABLISH THE BASELINE

We objectively test key physical performance qualities to establish where the athlete is today.

2. IDENTIFY DEVELOPMENT PRIORITIES

Testing results help identify strengths, weaknesses and areas requiring focused development.

3. BUILD THE DEVELOPMENT PLAN

Training is structured around the athlete's individual needs rather than giving every athlete exactly the same program.

4. TRAIN & DEVELOP

Athletes work through structured development designed to improve the qualities identified through their assessment.

5. RETEST & TRACK PROGRESS

Athletes are retested to measure improvement, update their baseline and determine the next development priorities.

ONE ATHLETE. ONE BASELINE. ONE DEVELOPMENT PLAN.

Test. Develop. Retest. Progress.
